In part one (see here) of my Talk to Me, Baby! blog—inspired by our new clutch of FANGORIA TV interviews on this site (four on THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE alone this week! Romero, SPLICE and BEST WORST MOVIE), I recalled the early interviews that set me off on a career in journalism, a trajectory that led straight to FANGORIA for the last 25 years. FANGORIA will host a free screening of Warner Bros./Dark Castle’s new horror thriller SPLICE, from acclaimed CUBE director Vincenzo Natali, at the Cinema Village (22 East 12th Street, off University Place) on Saturday, May 8 at 11:30 p.m. Natali, who also helmed CYPHER and NOTHING, will attend the screening and conduct a Q&A. No stranger to Stephen King adaptations, Mick Garris has been trying to add the author’s BAG OF BONES to his directing résumé for some time now. And it looks like his plans are finally bearing fruit.

Fantasia, North America’s top film festival celebrating all things genre, is putting together the lineup for its 14th annual edition, which takes place July 8-27 in Montreal. Staten Island filmmakers Joshua Zeman and Barbara Brancaccio turned a local legend into an acclaimed documentary with CROPSEY, which has been chilling audiences at festivals since its premiere at Tribeca last year. Now the movie is heading into nationwide theatrical release—including a screening at its key location.

It’s a big day for Spanish cinema news… The word just came down this morning about a new feature from the writer and director of THE ORPHANAGE, and now the production company behind that film has announced a new fright flick of its own. Rodar Y Rodar is in development on a supernatural thriller called SCARS.
