In the News Not Necessarily Worth Reporting Dept., a movie that recently turned up on this summer’s release schedule as UNTITLED VAMPIRE SPOOF now has a title. And it’s about what one would expect from the folks who brought us such deathless modern-comedy classics as MEET THE SPARTANS, DISASTER MOVIE and EPIC MOVIE.

The remake of FRIGHT NIGHT has begun to take a much clearer shape this week with the revealing details of its Las Vegas setting and Criss Angel inspiration for the modern Peter Vincent. Now, that character and the infamous Evil Ed have been cast, check out who's playing them below!

Breaking the alternating game of James Wong and David R. Ellis on the FINAL DESTINATION movies, New Line has recruited an outsider to the series to take the reins of the fifth installment, which will be the franchise’s second (after last year’s THE FINAL DESTINATION) in 3-D.

The cast of THE DARKEST HOUR, the $40-million science-fiction thriller that rolls this summer in Moscow (and which we previously reported on here), is being filled out, with a new addition just announced to the ensemble that already includes Emile Hirsch and Olivia Thirlby.

It was first rumbled about a while ago (as we initially reported here), and now it’s a reality: Sam Raimi’s classic THE EVIL DEAD is finally coming to Blu-ray, via Anchor Bay Entertainment. The company is also issuing Adam Green’s HATCHET in the hi-def format.

Shout! Factory just keeps on turning out first-class disc releases of vintage genre fare, with a couple of new B-horror homages also on its slate. The company passed Fango the content info on its upcoming DVDs of GAMERA VS. BARUGON, the second in the Japanese giant-turtle franchise, and Larry Blamire’s THE LOST SKELETON RETURNS AGAIN (pictured) and DARK AND STORMY NIGHT.

It’s official: With Julie Benz no longer in the picture, Julia Stiles is joining the fifth season of Showtime’s DEXTER.

After a series of character-based teaser posters, filmmaker Joshua Grannell has released the official one-sheet for his horror/comedy ALL ABOUT EVIL, which has begun its special screening series across the U.S. Check out the art after the jump.

The first horror STAR WARS story, Joe Schreiber’s DEATH TROOPERS involves the Imperial prison barge Purge—temporary home to 500 of the galaxy’s most ruthless killers and scoundrels—which breaks down in an uninhabited part of space. Its only hope is a seemingly abandoned Star Destroyer. But when a boarding party is sent to scavenge for parts, they bring back with them a horrific disease that kills. And death is only the beginning… Now, Gentle Giant is releasing two minibusts of the titular terrors.
