FANGORIA took a trip to Tinsley Studios, the FX house behind FX Network’s acclaimed horror series AMERICAN HORROR STORY, and after touring the space, we sat down with the show’s makeup FX designer, Christien Tinsley.

Indie actor Noah Segan has found himself a part of two filmic families. That is to say he's been welcomed within the horror community for turns in the weird, wild likes of DEADGIRL and SOMEONE'S KNOCKING AT THE DOOR, as well as a stalwart component of the films of Rian Johnson. Johnson, one of the best and most exciting new voices, now sees the opening of his biggest picture yet, LOOPER. And while the two worlds don't necessarily clash for Segan (who's overdue for a breakout) in the time travel tale, he did give Fango the lowdown on LOOPER and some of its spectacular displays of violence, and reflected on past genre work.

Each Halloween season, the subways in New York City are adorned with nightmares. They’re ever changing, but the residents know what it means: one of the city’s most lauded haunts is returning. And this year, with creator Timothy Haskell reluctantly giving in to his audience’s blood thirst, it sounds like Nightmare is at its most vicious yet. FANGORIA spoke with Haskell about his already hot button theme of serial killers, as well as the incredible gallery of murder history accompanying the 2012 chapter.

Back when Joe Dante first rolled cameras on THE HOLE in late 2008, it was at the forefront of a new wave of 3D production that would soon become a staple of fantasy/horror filmmaking. Unfortunately, bad luck consigned the film to unseen status in the U.S. (though it did open overseas) until now, and Dante spoke to Fango on the eve of its theatrical and disc release.

While Robert E. Howard’s Conan novels have fascinated millions of readers, not all his fans are aware that the legendary author also created, in 1928, another dark hero: Solomon Kane. A 16th-century Puritan, Kane is a somber man who wanders the Earth with no apparent goal other than to battle evil in all its forms, and he makes his big-screen debut in a film currently on VOD and hitting theaters this Friday, September 28.
