Did the mortgage and housing crisis inspire this one? In the PSYCHO/THE STRANGERS-style thriller OPEN HOUSE, now available on demand and DVD from Lionsgate, a demented couple (THE HURT LOCKER’s Brian Geraghty and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA’s Tricia Helfer) squat in comfortable homes for sale and murder all those who get in the way. Rachel Blanchard plays a survivor hiding in the basement trying to outwit the maniacs living upstairs. At last spring’s Tribeca Film Festival, Fango’s Tony Timpone’s interviewed stars Geraghty and Blanchard (see here and here). Today our editor emeritus concludes his chat with OPEN HOUSE’s writer/director Andrew Paquin (see part one of Paquin interview here), brother/brother-in-law of TRUE BLOOD hotties Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, respectively. The two actors have cameos in the gory home invasion thriller, which marks Paquin’s directorial debut. Happy house hunting!
