Members of the Fango family will be making an appearance this Sunday, March 21 at the historic Byrd Theater in Richmond, VA when the James River Film Festival presents the documentary VIRGINIA CREEPERS: THE HORROR HOST TRADITION OF THE OLD DOMINION. Richmond-area fans who remember the Bowman Body (pictured left), Dr. Gruesome and Skeeter (pictured below) and perhaps even Ghoulda or Hazel Witch will want to take the opportunity to see the movie on the big screen.

In addition to the BROTHER BLOOD signing with author Donald Glut that we told you about here, Dark Delicacies in Burbank, CA (4213 W. Burbank) will be hosting a couple of other events that should be of interest to Fango fans.

The DARK NIGHT returns! VCI Entertainment announced that it will be releasing the highly anticipated and long overdue DVD of the extremely creepy TV movie DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW.

A new trailer just hit the web the other day for a clash of the horror-movie titans to rival FREDDY VS. JASON and ALIEN VS. PREDATOR: KARL THE BUTCHER VS. AXE! The trailer’s not safe for work and even its new title isn’t either, so click past the jump for more…

Glut (DINOSAUR VALLEY GIRLS, THE MUMMY’S KISS, BLOOD SCARAB, etc.) that has previously gone unpublished in the United States.

The Syfy channel has announced its gargantuan schedule of original movies and miniseries slated to air over the course of 2010. For horror fans, the first reaction to issue #1 of Scott Snyder’s AMERICAN VAMPIRE is the sigh of relief they’ll experience as they realize it’s a far cry from the bloodsucking bandwagon most of Hollywood finds itself on. Set in a near future where people can “lease” artificial organs, but run into big, bloody trouble if they can’t keep up their payments, Universal’s REPO MEN is the first feature by director Miguel Sapochnik. The filmmaker recently chatted with Fango about the experience, why he hates good movies with lousy third acts and how AVATAR blew him away.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sigourney Weaver has joined the cast of VAMPS, a bloodsucker comedy to be directed by Amy Heckerling. The actress beloved by genre fans for the ALIEN movies will play Ciccerus, a vampire queen.
