While actor Jackie Earle Haley assumes the role that made Robert Englund a star in the remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, the original Freddy has been globetrotting of late. The annual Cannes Film Festival is always a busy marketplace for genre features from all over the world, and every so often, a few sneak into the official competition/screening side as well. That’s the case in this year’s Director’s Fortnight section, whose lineup was just announced.
