There’s a new trailer out for director Vincenzo Natali’s SPLICE. Check it out below!

Mel Brooks is returning to horror—and it’s not with a spoof in the vein of DRACULA: DEAD AND LOVING IT. The project is called PIZZAMAN—and no, SPACEBALLS’ Pizza the Hutt (pictured) isn’t the star.

Currently playing a one-handed killer in Martin McDonagh’s black comedy A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE on Broadway, Christopher Walken spoke the other day about a certain Vincent Price film that he would like to see turned into a musical. Read on for the info!

UK Fango correspondent Jay Slater has entered the world of fright filmmaking, and has done so as part of an exciting project: LITTLE DEATHS, an omnibus feature containing segments by three notable British filmmakers: Simon Rumley, whose brutal RED WHITE & BLUE is currently touring the festival circuit; Andrew Parkinson, the man behind the Fango Video releases I, ZOMBIE and DEAD CREATURES; and Sean Hogan, who helmed THE HAUNTING OF #24 and co-wrote last year’s SUMMER’S MOON. Slater, one of the project’s executive producers, passed on a bunch of exclusive pics, and he and the directors talked it up as well.

Edward Furlong, soon to be seen in the NIGHT OF THE DEMONS remake, and THE HILLS HAVE EYES’ Michael Berryman are starring in the independent thriller BELOW ZERO, and this one, as the title suggests, is a true chiller.

A warm, funny James Cameron was the center of an “Is Pandora Possible?” lecture at Pasadena’s Cal Tech, where he and several revered scientists—Jess Adkins, John P. Grotzinger, Jared Leadbetter and Robert Hurt—debated the feasability of the alien world in the writer/director’s AVATAR. (The billion-dollar grosser went out on DVD and Blu-ray last week.) Chatting about extraterrestrial worlds eventually led Cameron to address ALIEN—specifically the prequel to the classic sci-fi horror film that original director Ridley Scott is developing (see our last item here).

“New Decade. New Rules.” That’s the tagline on the new teaser poster for SCREAM 4, which returning director Wes Craven will start shooting this June. Take a look at the one-sheet and read up on Craven’s thoughts on the sequel after the jump.

Fango heard from the people behind a new independent feature called BOOLEY, about the shaping of a man into a murderer, and they also passed on some exclusive photos. The Potent Pictures production is currently lensing on Brooklyn and Philadelphia locations under writer/director Christian Jude Grillo, and includes in its cast a couple of Howard Stern cohorts.

There will be BLOOD. TRUE BLOOD that is. The third season of Alan Ball’s HBO series premieres June 13, and here’s a new addition to their poster campaign.

Samuel Bayer’s new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET will be slashing screens this Friday. As you probably know, WATCHMEN’s Jackie Earle Haley is essaying Freddy Krueger, and here’s an up close and personal look at his creepy countenance.

More British bloodsucking is heading Stateside as TEMPTATION arrives on DVD this summer. The movie, which played the Gorefest London International Film Festival and the Bram Stoker International Horror Film Festival, has a U.S. street date of June 29, and Fango got the details.

When are we friggin’ returning to the Shire? Warner Bros. has issued a press release announcing a tentative release date for THE HOBBIT now that the initial December 2011 debut is out the window.
