Bloodthirsty prehistoric piranha, drunk and stupid kids partying it up during spring break and a hilariously Doc Brownish Christopher Lloyd are featured in the new PIRANHA 3-D trailer. Oh, and it also has Richard Dreyfuss in Matt Hooper cap and glasses, stranded out at sea. He’s going to need a bigger boat!

[Now updated with more info on the new [REC] films and Balaguero's next.] With the U.S. release of the excellent [REC] 2 looming (and this time going [albeit limited] theatrical), the idea of a third film in the series doesn’t seem so far fetched, and now it isn’t- as Filmax has officially confirmed two more films in the franchise. Did you all enjoy squirming at Dr. Heiter's horrific home surgery this weekend? Whether you hit the theater or checked it out On Demand thanks to IFC Films, there's no doubt, THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE is an experience and Fango is happy to help delve even deeper into that experience with a series of video interviews with writer/director Tom Six and star, the mad doctor himself, Dieter Laser. Read on for the first of the clips!

When horror film maverick Wes Craven released his signature 1984 surrealist slasher A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, he not only revitalized his somewhat stagnating career, he altered the course of the genre, spawning myriad, increasingly absurd sequels as well as comic books, a TV show and countless ripoffs. And now comes the newfangled, box-office-decimating remake courtesy of producer Michael Bay, who previously applied his glossy sensibilities to reduxes of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, THE AMITYVILLE HORROR and FRIDAY THE 13TH.

We’re not sure if it’s a genre movie or not, but any reunion of the team behind the genuinely frightening ghost story THE ORPHANAGE sounds intriguing to us. And director Juan Antonio Bayona (pictured) and screenwriter Sergio G. Sanchez are reteaming on a project called THE IMPOSSIBLE.

“Welcome to FRIGHT NIGHT.” It’s hard to believe writer/director Tom Holland’s film is 25 years old. And upon learning of DreamWorks’ plans to remake it (with LARS AND THE REAL GIRL’s Craig Gillespie directing Marti Noxon’s script), I decided to revisit the 1985 original and see how it has stood the test of time. My verdict: “You’re still cool, Brewster!”

FANGORIA editor emeritus Tony Timpone will appear on CBS' THE EARLY SHOW this coming Monday, May 3, 7-9 a.m. EST to discuss the A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake. Read on for the info!

Now that the horrible winter of 2009-10 has passed into the record books to become fodder for future stories, it’s safe to look at a recently released title that captures all the things wrong with the season: large amounts of snow, spotty electricity and no escape route. Oh yeah, and another group of stupid young people waiting to get killed in horrible, nasty ways.

This is how the meetings go around FANGORIA’s office: “Hey, guys,” says the big boss, “I’ve got a new title that features naked men in it. Any takers?” When nobody goes for it, the consensus is, “Give it to the new girl.” I don’t know how long I’m going to be “the new girl,” but I get the distinct feeling I’m going to continue to get most, if not all, of the titles with serious male nudity and bisexuality involved.

Bring it on, suckers.

Refined estimates for this weekend’s box office have come in, and it looks like New Line and Platinum Dunes’ remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET has come in a little short of initial projections. It has still handily claimed the number-one spot on the chart, however.

If, for some strange reason, you’re reading this article and don’t know who Joe R. Lansdale is, allow me to invoke the phrase that will make it all crystal clear: BUBBA HO-TEP. Long before Don Coscarelli’s great movie, starring Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis as Elvis and “JFK” taking on a soul-sucking mummy in a Texas retirement home, it was a Lansdale novella featured in the collection NEW WRITERS OF THE PURPLE RAGE.

Tired of wearing those T-shirts with boring movie-poster prints that every other horror fan owns? Are you feeling a bit undead and need some new, original horror clothing to make you feel more alive? Then look no further than Headstone City.
