Hello horror fans! My name is Jeff Tuttle, and I play guitar in a band called The Dillinger Escape Plan. I know there’s nothing more cliché than a rock musician who loves fright flicks, but what can I say? I can’t get enough of the red stuff. I was just 9 years old when I saw Umberto Lenzi’s GHOSTHOUSE and I’ve yet to look back. From that point on, I’ve been on a never-ending quest to seek out the best (and subsequently finding many of the worst) that the genre has to offer.

Having had a lifetime fascination with large bodies of water and immersing himself in them, it’s probably no surprise that Andrew Traucki, co-writer and -director of the excellent, naturalistic horror film BLACK WATER, would drift out to sea for his follow-up feature THE REEF (see some new, exclusive pics below). For what might be the second part of a possible trilogy, and a film that has been completely financed by advance sales, Traucki has constructed a story involving a group of five whose boat capsizes in the middle of the ocean, leaving them adrift without communication—and subject to the attention of a massive shark.

The indie UK horror production INBRED is causing some controversy in its scheduled shooting location of Thirsk. Residents of the town fear that the movie, which involves locals with the titular condition, will lead viewers to think it’s based on fact.

While it hasn’t caused quite the same debate as the new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, Matt Reeves’ remake of the well-received Swedish film LET THE RIGHT ONE IN has sparked some serious online discussion. Reeves recently talked about his redux of Tomas Alfredson’s movie, titled LET ME IN and coming from Overture Films October 1, and a second official photo has been released.

There isn’t a U.S. release date yet, but the Japanese action-horror flick SAMURAI ZOMBIE—written by VERSUS/THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN director Ryuhei Kitamura and helmed by popular actor/filmmaker/action choreographer Tak Sakaguchi—is heading for DVD release in the UK. The cover art for the film, a.k.a. YOROI: SAMURAI ZOMBIE, is now on the web.

Back in 1968-69, Britain’s ITV channel ran a popular show called RANDALL AND HOPKIRK (DECEASED), in which a policeman is killed in the line of duty and comes back as a ghost to continue battling crime with his old partner. Now the show itself is being resurrected.

Life of Agony bassist Alan Robert stopped by the Fango office for to give us the lowdown on his new comic series WIRE HANGERS, of which the second issue is out this Wednesday, check out the third clip of the interview below!

Director Jordan McClure sent Fango the first one-sheet for his Bill Moseley starring ROGUE RIVER, which we last covered here and here. Check it out below!

Help! “Oh! Darling,” look what they’re doing to the Beatles! From hoax to jokes: Alan Goldsher’s book PAUL IS UNDEAD comes out this June, and Double Feature partners Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher have optioned it. The novel reimagines the history of The Beatles with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as zombies. Talk about beating an undead horse. “You Can’t Do That.” Let It Be!

As the X-Men recover from the conclusion of “Second Coming” and prepare to enter the Heroic Age, they’ll first have to survive the "Curse of the Mutants.”

When pondering iconic cinematic power couples, one pair who are never likely to be thought of are Michael and Roberta Findlay. The two have been appropriately dubbed “the most notorious filmmakers in the annals of sexploitation.” Meshing sex and sadism into one nasty mix, the couple took over the underground market of New York grindhouse theaters.

Fango recently caught up with comedian Brian Posehn, whom genre fans will know better as an occasional actor on Rob Zombie projects like THE DEVIL’S REJECTS and THE HAUNTED WORLD OF EL SUPERBEASTO. Posehn took some time off from his current tour to talk about his new epic heavy metal/comedy album FART AND WIENER JOKES (out now on Relapse Records) and some potential horror projects.
