“…you’re bringing our #deathparty down,” producer Tim League good naturedly jabbed at WE ARE WHAT WE ARE director Jorge Michel Grau as THE ABCs OF DEATH hit VOD on January 31. A mass viewing party on Twitter unfurled to celebrate the anthology in all its unapologetic, brash, bloody glory. Spearheaded by producers League and Ant Timpson, a boozy good time was had by a host of the 26 directors who contributed, fans and filmmakers alike as they imbibed, commented and were generally awed by the insanity on display. League wasn’t far off, though. While the sheer variety of filmmakers involved always meant a spectrum of content, Grau’s is an undeniable, sober standout in a film looking to headbang its life away.

Whether viral videos play a part in the resurgence of the anthology, or not is debatable (but intensely likely), but the varied, all-encompassing subgenre is certainly tailored-fit for web series—a place where the alternative often thrives. Patrick Scott, creator of ZOOCHOSIS is dealing in such.

The home-invasion horror is set to enter your house via DVD this summer, and we’ve got the scoop on the final supplemental package and a look at the cover art.

Fango got the scoop that the creators of NEVERMORE: AN EVENING WITH EDGAR ALLAN POE, the highly acclaimed one-man stage show about the tortured master of horror literature, is on track for the screen.

Backbends are passé. Nell and Abalam have moved on to religious iconography.

HOUSE OF THE DEVIL star Jocelin Donahue has joined INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 2, and her role reveals a bit about where the film could go.

Two years ago, they were all over San Diego Comic Con: Young men and women in blue short-sleeve shirts wearing bunny ear hats. I was told what this was from, and also told I should watch the show.  However, like most things I’m told to do, I put it off for another year.

“I hope you will be just as scared as I am right now, standing in front of you all!” Dutch director Richard Raaphorst sure knew how to introduce the world premiere of his film at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. While FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY might not be as nerve-racking as the première of your first horror flick, it sure is a hell-of-a-lot of fun.

“It's all a blur.” What really happened at the costumed party of a big Polish book publisher? Your guess is as good as mine, even áfter watching the mystery-thriller IXJANA at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is known throughout the world for its all-encompassing program: all genres, from all seven continents. Well, to be honest we haven't heard anything from Antarctica for a while now, but they'll be back, rest assured. As always the focus in this year's 42nd edition rests on human interest, but as far as genre films are concerned, there's enough to keep us interested. HALLEY, for example, is a very bleak Mexican horrordrama that will make you think twice about dreaming of life eternal.

Veteran action director Walter Hill has been staging mayhem in Louisiana for several decades now. His debut at the helm, 1975’s HARD TIMES, was shot in New Orleans; he ventured into the bayou for the 1981 action/horror hybrid SOUTHERN COMFORT; and went back to the Big Easy for 1989’s JOHNNY HANDSOME. Now he’s making the city’s streets run red again with the Sylvester Stallone-starring revenge thriller BULLET TO THE HEAD, his first feature in 10 years, which he talks about in this exclusive Fango interview.

THE COMPANY OF WOLVES and INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE director tells another tale of creatures of the night.
