Yes, it’s as lousy as you’ve heard, and yes, it’s just as
awesome. 1964’s ludicrous kiddie sci-fi romp SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS
is about as dopey as Christmas movies get, and yet as a cult film, it stands
alone.
When Martian kids get hooked on U.S. television and start fixating on Christmas, their elders decide to kidnap Santa and drag his ass back to Mars. Plotwise, there’s a lot here that was later explored to much improved effect in Tim Burton’s THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS…and yet that film didn’t have a preteen Pia Zadora as a whiny, green-faced Martian child. This one does.
Anyway, we at Fango Labs are proud to present this embarrassment in stunning nickel-and-dime anaglyph 3D! If you have your pair of FangoVision glasses left over from your copy of FANGORIA #316, great—stick ’em on. If not…well, come now, you must have some red-and-blue 3D glasses lying around somewhere, right?
Either way, click here and groove on the slipshod galactic holiday goodness.
