FANGORIA will host a free screening of director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s supernatural thriller INTRUDERS on Tuesday, March 20 at 7 p.m. in New York City. The special event will be held at the Cinema Village (22 East 12th Street, off University Place). Fresnadillo, acclaimed director of 28 WEEKS LATER and INTACTO (and scheduled to helm the HIGHLANDER reboot), will be attending the Fango show. INTRUDERS is the chilling story of two children living in different countries, each visited nightly by a faceless being that wants to take possession of them. This advance preview is presented by Millennium Entertainment, who will open INTRUDERS nationwide on March 30.

Here’s the INTRUDERS synopsis: “Though no one can see him, Hollowface lurks in the corners, desperately desiring love but only knowing how to spread fear and hate. He creeps into the life of John Farrow [Clive Owen of CHILDREN OF MEN and KILLER ELITE] after Farrow’s beloved 12-year-old daughter Mia [Ella Purnell] is assaulted in their home. The line between the real and the imaginary blurs as fissures start to open within the family unit. It seems that no security measure can keep Hollowface out.”

Reviewing the movie, Entertainment Maven said, “The true strength of INTRUDERS is that it is an intelligent horror film.” Catching the film at its Toronto International Film Festival premiere, the Horror Section blog noted, “INTRUDERS is…a solid effort, anchored by a very fascinating concept.” Finally, Matthew Turner of View New Zealand commented: “Creepy and atmospheric, [INTRUDERS] is a well-written and stylishly directed psychological thriller that’s heightened by strong performances from Clive Owen and Ella Purnell.”
