Canada’s original purveyors of authentic 35mm grindhouse shock, Vagrancy Films will be unspooling two of filmmaker Dario Argento’s most recognized works on Saturday, July 23rd at the Toronto Underground Cinema. First up is Argento’s infamous giallo DEEP RED, in which a musician witnesses the murder of a famous psychic, and then teams up with a feisty reporter to find the killer while evading attempts on their lives by the unseen killer bent on keeping a dark secret buried. Stars Daria Nicolodi, and the late great David Hemmings. Music by Goblin. This is the tighter U.S. theatrical print….

Next up is Lamberto Bava's 1985 gore gusher DEMONS in which a test audience is trapped in a large West Berlin movie theater infected by ravenous demons. Stars Geretta Geretta, Bobby Rhodes and Urbano Barberini. Music by Claudio Simonetti and many others. This is the fully uncut version and handsome 35mm print at that.
