Veteran international genre filmmaker Brian Yuzna is still keeping busy overseas. Last year he announced a slate of movies to be made under his new Komodo Films banner, and one of those projects is a dimensional creature feature he’s directed called “AMPHIBIOUS 3D,” for which an official website recently appeared.

Billed as “The First Dutch 3-D Horror Movie” and announced for theatrical release later this year, AMPHIBIOUS stars Janna Fassaert as marine biologist Skylar, who enlists charter boat captain Jack Bowman (Michael Paré) to take her to the Sumatran Sea in her search for prehistoric lifeform samples. Along the way, they encounter a band of smugglers who have enslaved a young orphan; Skylar takes pity on the boy and attempts to protect him, but who’s gonna protect the lot of them when an ancient, scorpionlike creature—to whom the kid appears to have some kind of connection—surfaces to try to kill them all? Yuzna also scripted the film with RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD PART III’s John Penney, horror author Somtow Sucharitkul (a.k.a. S.P. Somtow) and San Fu Maltha, the latter of whom produced with Yuzna and Ananda Siregar. London-based Celsius Films is handling international sales.
