CROPSEY, the tale of an urban legend that came to life in the 1970s and ‘80s on Staten Island, New York has been picked up for a television premiere later this summer after its theatrical and VOD bookings. Read on for the info!

Filmmaking couple Barbara Brancaccio and Joshua Zeman made their documentary in an attempt to delve into how the urban legend of Cropsey attached itself to a string of child disappearances in their Staten Island neighborhoods amidst the height of Satanic Panic.

After its buzzed about festival run, CROPSEY will see a small theatrical release this June (see Fango’s rundown of how you can see it here), followed by VOD in July and finally have its television premiere on Investigation Discovery this August, appropriately on that month’s Friday the 13th, from 9-11 p.m.

For more info on CROPSEY, you can check its official site and click here to make sure you get Investigation Discovery.

With CROPSEY’s release next Friday, June 4, watch for in-depth coverage, as well as a review of this excellent doc, right here on FANGORIA.
