French actress Beatrice Dalle won widespread critical praise, genre-fan admiration and a Fango Chainsaw Award for her performance as a deranged woman obsessed with another woman’s unborn child in INSIDE (pictured). Now she’s about to embark upon another story of homicidal mania.
Screen Daily reports that Dalle will star with Bouli Lanners and Virginie Efira in ALLELUIA, the latest film by CALVAIRE/THE ORDEAL and VINYAN director Fabrice du Welz. Based on the true case of 1940s serial killers Martha Beck and Raymond Fernandez, whose exploits also inspired Leonard Kastle’s 1970 cult classic THE HONEYMOON KILLERS, 1996’s DEEP CRIMSON and 2006’s LONELY HEARTS, the movie is being produced by Michael Gentile’s The Film company. Du Welz is also scripting with Vincent Tavier (a producer on CALVAIRE who co-wrote and co-starred in MAN BITES DOG); shooting is scheduled to begin early next year.
