NBC's released a look at the delicate working relationship between agent Will Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter. It sure doesn't look like the buddy cop antics we (I) were hoping.
From Bryan Fuller (PUSHING DAISIES, HEROES), HANNIBAL seeks to let us in on the procedural days of Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) as he tracks down serial killers with the help of one. As the official synopsis would suggest (twice!) however, Will has little idea what he's working with: When the mind of the twisted killer he's pursuing is too complicated for even Will to comprehend, he enlists the help of Dr. Lecter, one of the premier psychiatric minds in the country. Armed with the uncanny expertise of the brilliant doctor, Will and Hannibal (known as a serial killer only to the audience) form a brilliant partnership and it seems there's no villain they can't catch. If Will only knew...
I imagine many will tune in so as to see how the oddly beloved cannibal will translate here. With little affection for any of his incarnations, I imagine Mads Mikkelsen possesses some of the otherworldly, menacing sophistication necessary and will handle it just fine. But with the ever stretching boundaries of television and the fact that the undead regularly eat humans on AMC, will the doctor be dining on liver and the like regularly? April 4th, we find out.
