Just yesterday, it was revealed that Dario Argento is working on a new DRACULA to be filmed in “Stereoscopic 3-D.” Now, it appears that another upcoming vampire revival is going to add an extra dimension.
In a small item in Variety reporting on recent crew assignments, it was noted that Rob Ortiz had been signed on as unit production manager on “FRIGHT NIGHT 3-D.” A slip of the keyboard, or info that perhaps wasn’t supposed to be reported yet? We’ll keep our eyes out for further confirmation. A remake from DreamWorks of the 1985 favorite, FRIGHT NIGHT will be directed by Craig Gillespie from a script by BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER’s Marti Noxon, and stars Colin Farrell (pictured) as a suave vampire who moves next door to a suspicious teen (STAR TREK’s Anton Yelchin); THE SIXTH SENSE’s Toni Collette plays the young hero’s mom. No word yet on casting for horror host Peter Vincent or the protagonist’s sidekick Evil Ed.
