The acclaimed psychological-thriller novel BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP is headed for the big screen with a couple of big names attached.

Variety reports that Colin Firth has joined Nicole Kidman (soon to be seen in Park Chan-wook’s STOKER) in BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP, along with Mark Strong and Anne-Marie Duff. Rowan Joffe, who co-wrote 28 WEEKS LATER, scripted and will direct this story, which mines tension from the premise played for laughs in Adam Sandler’s 50 FIRST DATES: a woman (Kidman) wakes up every day with no previous memories of her own identity, and keeps a journal in an attempt to understand her life. Then she discovers evidence that she can’t trust her husband (Firth), and frightening truths start coming to light. Scott Free and Millennium Films are backing BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP, with Liza Marshall producing and Ben Davis on board as cinematographer; filming is set to begin at Twickenham Studios and at other London-area locales late this month.
