Korean director Kim Ji-woon’s résumé has spanned many genres, from comedy to the recently released Western homage THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD. But he’s highly regarded by many for his supernatural creeper A TALE OF TWO SISTERS, and now he’s getting back to scary territory.
Screen Daily reports that Kim is currently in production on I SAW A DEVIL, which is set to open in Korea this summer and is being sold at the current Cannes Film Festival by Finecut. THREE…EXTREMES’ Lee Byung-hun and OLDBOY’s Choi Min-sik star in this saga of a psychopathic killer pursued by a secret agent whose fiancée he has murdered. Finecut will be screening 12 minutes of footage at Cannes.
