See what our collective impatience has wrought.

There's no use pretending here that any of us have a sort of measured, restrained expectation for EVIL DEAD. The movie looks fantastic. I know it, you know it, Sony knows it and Bruce Campbell knows it. He took to Twitter yesterday to announce that Fede Alvarez's remake of the Sam Raimi classic will now open April 5, instead of its original April 12. Our culture of now is winning.

In other news, the film has received its hard R rating ("Strong bloody violence and gore, some sexual content and language). Alvarez recently spoke about it originally garnering an NC-17, but as expected, had to be a scaled back a tad. If you're worried about the trailers promising more than they can deliver, however, Alvarez alleviated such anxiety, saying "The R rated will have ALL the stuff you are seeing in the trailers. Trust me, You haven't seen a harder R rated film than ours..."

EVIL DEAD sees five twenty-somethings head to a cabin in the woods, where they uncover a book of the dead and unleash dormant demons in the forest. Trailer below!
