Are you one of the many frustrated by AMERICAN HORROR STORY: ASYLUM's aliens never stepping out into the light they shone down? Concept artist Jerad S. Marantz has a treat.

Marantz revealed a host of the work he did prepping for ASYLUM and its makeup-heavy ensemble, from Dr. Arden's mutants in the woods, to Shelley's amputation, to microcephalic Pepper and finally the much maligned aliens. Much of the series' audience seemed to dislike the constant air of mystery surrounding the extraterrestrials and their relationship to Kit and Grace; an air that was maintained right to the end, with only fleeting glimpses and nothing concrete in the way of explanation. This, of course, was for the better. The aliens and their brief moments were eerie, abstract and often one some of the most effective aspects of the season. There's also a great chance they work much better in the below illustrated form than they would on full display.

You can see the alien below, as well as much more via Jerad Marantz's blog. [h/t STYD]
