Two of the festival's best midnight selections are coming for you. 

Variety is reporting that Magnolia Pictures, who distributed found footage anthology V/H/S last year, will be handling its sequel, S-VHS as well. The film premiered to a real heap of praise this past weekend. Fango was on hand for Saturday's midnight debut (our review) and the warm reception is much deserved. Featuring installments from YOU'RE NEXT's Adam Wingard & Simon Barrett, Eduardo Sanchez & Gregg Hale (THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT), the team of Gareth Evans (THE RAID) & Timo Tjahjanto (MACABRE) and Jason Eisener (HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN), S-VHS is rare in that its both a follow-up that improves on its predecessor and an anthology in which every segment is up to snuff; some reach real greatness. The deal is early (still in negotiations, even), so no word yet on planned release. 

Meanwhile, Deadline broke that STAKE LAND team Jim Mickle & Nick Damici's reimagining of Mexican horror film WE ARE WHAT WE ARE has gone to eOne. The movie, about a family of ritual cannibals that lose their matriarch and find their world crumbling, does a fantastic job of reshaping Jorge Michel Grau's original, finding its own, pulpier voice (our review) with grace. 

For much more, keep an eye on Fango as both S-VHS and WE ARE WHAT WE ARE are very much worth looking forward to.
