Abalam has followed Nell out of found footage and into the group home.

A curiosity about THE LAST EXORCISM PART II was whether the film would again unfold through found footage, and if not, if the first "film" would play a role. It seems it does, as Ed Gass-Donnelly has brought a classical narrative aesthetic to the sequel which sees Nell (Ashley Bell) recovering from her possession/birth in what looks like a New Orleans group home and contending with both the return of her afflictions and the cruel nature of everyone watching her ordeal.

What's easy to glean already is that Bell, like last time, seems in top form. She brought a real weight to Nell and was an integral part of THE LAST EXORCISM being so good. It also looks like clunky digital ghoulishness has been amped up.

THE LAST EXORCISM was one of the finer American horror films of late, but seems it like just came and went. Will you be there on March 1 to follow up?
