Finally, DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW, the 1981 telemovie directed by AUDREY ROSE/THE ENTITY author Frank De Felitta, is being released on DVD. It’s been long overdue, but now DARK NIGHT has a release date, disc specs and cover art.
Shock Till You Drop got the drop on the details. VCI Entertainment is releasing the DVD September 28, with audio commentary by De Felitta and writer J.D. Feigelson and the original trailer. DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW stars DARKMAN’s Larry Drake as a mentally challenged man who is wrongly accused of attacking a young girl. Pursued by a group of vigilantes led by THE FURY’s Charles Durning, he disguises himself as a scarecrow but is murdered by the mob. After the men are acquitted, however, justice is served in a much more violent manner when a mysterious scarecrow hunts down the wrongdoers one by one.
