Things slow this Holiday week? Take in the first four minutes of this February's zombie comedy WARM BODIES.
Directed by ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE and THE WACKNESS' Jonathan Levine, WARM BODIES is billed as "a poignant tale about the power of human connection," set after most of the world is no longer human. This opening excerpt introduces us the WARM BODIES universe, as Nicholas Hoult's R tours the airport he calls home, imagining what life and lives were like prior to the zombie pandemic. In the case of individuals, he gives them whole lives, but in the case of interaction, we get a bit of pointed criticism towards humanity's current social warmth, or lack thereof.
Based on Isaac Marion's novel, the rest of the film sees "R (a highly unusual zombie) encounter Julie (a human survivor) and rescue her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human—setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world."
John Malkovich and Rob Corddry co-star. WARM BODIES is out February 1.
