An image highlighting an excerpt from David R. Congress' THE SHDOW EXPLODED has appeared, proving more so that the original novel will have a major impact on Kimberly Peirce's CARRIE.
Taken from Stephen King's classic novel, the book within a book (or in this update/readaptation an e-book within the movie) is fully titled THE SHADOW EXPLODED: DOCUMENTED FACTS AND SPECIFIC CONCLUSIONS DERIVED FROM THE CASE OF CARRIETA WHITE. The text looks closely at the prom tragedy sparked by Carrie White's telekinetic outrage.
CARRIE's official Facebook revealed the image. Will THE SHADOW EXPLODED play a part in the Chloe Moretz, Julianne Moore-starring film? It seems to have a framing angle, much like the book does, of police records and Sue Snell's own account. Plus, the previous viral image was a redacted psychiatric report focused on Margaret White.
CARRIE is out March 15, 2013. For more, head to this fan fiction I found that sees the Teen Titans act out CARRIE.
