The genre-intensive Elijah Wood has teamed with TIMECRIMES and EXTRATERRESTRIAL wizard Nacho Vigalondo for tech-based thriller, OPEN WINDOWS.

Screen Daily reports shooting on OPEN WINDOWS is already underway. The plot sees Wood searching desperately for his girlfriend (Sasha Grey), who's been taken by a villain called Chord, played by KILL LIST lead Neil Maskell. The conceit here, is that all the action will unfold on a laptop screen, 

“The action will be followed on the screen of a laptop connected to the Internet – an approach that has excited us all from the outset. Something like this means going beyond high concept films like PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, CLOVERFIELD or CHRONICLE,” Vigalondo said. “Instead of simulating a home video camera, we will be representing a computer desktop. The movie screen becomes a computer screen, and the spectator becomes the protagonist of this adventure.”

Vigalondo brings a fresh, often vibrant vision to his works, having crafted a standout time travel tale in TIMECRIMES and brought a personal, unexpected bend to this year's alien invasion film, EXTRATERRESTRIAL. He's sure to push the laptop angle further than just a gimmick.
