Italian director Francesco Calabrese’s short film LOVELY
MONSTER (pictured) has won quite a bit of praise this year, and a planned
feature version has piqued Lionsgate’s interest.
Variety reports that the company is in talks to pick up the feature version of LOVELY MONSTER, which Calabrese will helm from a script by John Scott 3 for producer Alli Shearmur. The storyline concerns a young woman battling a strange illness that turns her into a creature; no surprise to see Scott on scripting duties, as his similarly themed screenplay MAGGIE was on the Black List before being snapped up by Inferno Entertainment, with Henry Hobson starring and Chloe Moretz set to star as a young girl who becomes a zombie, with Paddy Considine as her protective father. You can watch the LOVELY MONSTER short (with some non-work-safe language) below.
