It’s been a busy couple of days for horror disc announcements, and there are still more to let you know about…

• David Arquette of the SCREAM films and THE TRIPPER stars in THE COTTAGE (no relation to the British horror/comedy of the same title), coming on DVD October 9 from Entertainment One. Kristen Dalton from TV’s THE DEAD ZONE (who also produced with Bettina O’Mara) and Victor Brown play a financially struggling couple who rent out the cottage behind their house to get some extra money. The new tenant is Robert Mars (Arquette), a novelist who at first appears charming but soon proves to have dark secrets. Chris Jaymes directed from a script by Nick Antosca; the disc (with no bonus features) retails for $19.98.

Entertainment One also has the long-awaited U.S. disc release of the Japanese horror/comedy BIG TITS ZOMBIE on tap for November 20. Written and directed by SEXUAL PARASITE: KILLER PUSSY’s Takao Nakano, it’s about a group of small-town strippers/prostitutes who foolishly read aloud a passage from a Book of the Dead and have to fight off the zombie attack that results. No special features have yet been announced for this DVD, which presents the movie in both 2D and 3D and also retails for $19.98; watch the not-necessarily-safe-for-work trailer below.

• IFC Films and MPI Media Group have set street dates for three fright features under the IFC Midnight banner. Robert Lieberman’s THE TORTURED, in which Jesse Metcalfe and Erika Christensen play parents of a murdered child who exact painful revenge on the killer (Bill Moseley), streets Oct. 16; THE PACT, a haunting story starring Caity Lotz and Casper Van Dien and written/directed by Nicholas McCarthy, arrives Nov. 6; and Padraig Reynolds’ RITES OF SPRING, in which criminals (including AJ Bowen) run afoul of a human monster known as Wormface, is coming Nov. 27. Special features (if any) have yet to be announced for these three, which retail for $24.98 each; THE PACT will also be available on Blu-ray for $29.98.

• We previously reported here (with exclusive pics and comments) about the supernatural thriller THE GHOSTMAKER, and now it’s set to hit DVD, digital download, VOD and pay-per-view Nov. 13 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Directed by famed illustrator Mauro Borrelli from a script he wrote with Scott Svatos, it’s about an ancient coffin that allows a group of friends to experience the world as ghosts. The more they use its mechanism, however, the more their most dangerous impulses start getting drawn out. Aaron Dean Eisenberg, J. Walter Holland, Liz Fenning, Jared Grey and Domiziano Arcangeli star; the DVD will include commentary by Borrelli and producers Ed Polgardy and Scott Rudolph, plus behind-the-scenes footage and interviews. Retail price is $26.98.
