The Municipal Waste Video Show With FANGORIA

Dear FANGO Readers:

Day one. I write to you from the bowels of a dark, acid spewing chamber of a warehouse basement with Richmond, VA's very own Municipal Waste(!), as we lense their new music video for the track "Acid Sentence", off their latest Earache Records effort, MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE. Here's how this Fango writer survived the riffs of radiation...

After a hot n' dirty set up of cameras, lights, barrels of acid, and a choice supply of guts and gore (provided by the fine folks at Dapper Cadaver), the doors to the set hadn't even opened. Yet I could smell something wickedly awesome coming this way. If the phrase "WIZZZZZZARD!" had a smell, then this band was on the throne of sorcery.

One at a time, the band emerges on set: Drummer Dave Witte, followed by bassist Land Phil, guitarist Ryan Waste, and finally...machine gun vocalist Tony Foresta. After the most aggressive staring contest these eyes have ever endured, Foresta asks: "Ready?" Apparently, I was not.

When I came to, I was standing upright, and operating a camera jib. Fellow FANGORIA producer and the video’s director David McKendry informed me that I lost consciousness somewhere between the second and fourth drum stick count off to start the song. I checked the video monitor, wiping off the sweat (because, yes, they even make technology sweat) and leaned in to get a better view as Foresta jumped out of the darkness towards the camera lens mid-song, nearly crushing my soul. Guitarist Ryan Waste and bassist Land Phil shredded assault in my general direction as drummer Witte blasted through his kit with ease.

Take after take, nothing slowed these guys down in what was now a burning building. Something new was taking shape here. Foresta adds, "This video's gonna be darker. Nothing cheesy." MUNICIPAL WASTE is known for their over the top, Troma influenced videos, but this time they're going all out in what is shaping up to be their darkest venture yet.
