There’s a lot of curiosity surrounding STOKER, the U.S. filmmaking debut of Asian sensation Park Chan-wook (pictured), the man who gave us OLDBOY, THIRST and others, and now word has come down on when we’ll be able to see it.

Fox Searchlight has announced that STOKER will open in the U.S. on March 1, 2013, in a limited/platform release. Scripted by actor Wentworth Miller, the film was produced by Tony Scott, Ridley Scott and Michael Costigan; here’s the synopsis:

“After India’s [Mia Wasikowska] father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie [Matthew Goode], who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother [Nicole Kidman]. Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.” No doubt things get darker from there… The movie also stars THE GREY’s Dermot Mulroney, ANIMAL KINGDOM Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver, Lucas Till and Alden Ehrenreich.
