In the midst of bringing some of Hammer Films’ most celebrated features to disc (including the knockout Blu-ray/DVD combo of TWINS OF EVIL coming July 10), Synapse Films is also issuing the complete TV series HAMMER HOUSE OF HORROR September 11. We got the scoop on details and a peek at the cover.

Produced in 1980, HAMMER HOUSE OF HORROR consisted of 13 episodes shot at Hampden Manor House in the heart of England, with directors including Hammer vets Peter Sasdy and Alan Gibson and featuring actors such as Peter Cushing, Pierce Brosnan, Brian Cox and Denholm Elliott. Synapse’s five-DVD set will present the episodes in original airdate order, uncut with all the nudity and violence intact, presented in the original 1.33:1 broadcast aspect ratio. Supplements include:

• Episode introductions with film historian Shane M. Dallman

• “Grave Recollections: A Visit With Kathryn Leigh Scott” actress interview featurette

• “Hammer Housekeeping: A Visit With Mia Nadasi” actress interview featurette
