Nietzsche wrote, "What is great in man is that he is a bridge and not an end." And so is PROMETHEUS.
As the film visually dazzled and logically frustrated many viewers over the weekend, the engineer of it all, Ridley Scott, isn't done with us yet. A new site asks its visitors, "What is 10.11.12?"
Well, it's a date. A date in our future, but PROMETHEUS' past, and one we could guess very important for Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce), who quotes the famed philosopher in a brief new clip. Given the ending of PROMETHEUS, its lack of answers to the questions its poses (narratively, of course. Not the why are we here-type ponderings.) and its continued, expansive online presence, it's probable 10/11 could be the film's home release (despite being a Thursday), promoting the extra materials/bits of story that will surely be included.
Did you catch PROMETHEUS over the weekend? Did you like it, despite what many find to be a mess, both thematically and within its plot. I sure did, finding much to love in visuals and pulpier aspects, shallow exploration of the coexistence of science and divinity, and some silly character choices notwithstanding
