Three of the more intriguing independent horror films of the
past year now have DVDates, and art has appeared for one of them as well.
IFC Films and MPI Media Group have set Evan Kelly’s Canadian
chiller THE CORRIDOR for a July 24 disc release, and Fango got the scoop that
Dallas Hallam and Patrick Horvath’s ENTRANCE will arrive from the same
companies September 11. Special features, if any, have yet to be announced. In
THE CORRIDOR, scripted by Josh MacDonald, a group of friends trying to help one
of their number overcome a past trauma descend into madness after encountering
the titular phenomenon in the snowy woods; see our review here. ENTRANCE follows a young woman through her increasingly alienated life in LA,
which turns frightening thanks to an unseen stalker; our review of that one is
here and the filmmakers talk here. Look for more Fango coverage of both flicks as their DVDebuts get closer. We
also got the first word that JUAN OF THE DEAD (pictured above), the politically
conscious zombie opus from Cuban filmmaker Alejandro Brugués, will stalk onto
disc August 14 from Entertainment One. You can read all about that one in Fango
#312.
