Former Fango intern Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa just keeps racking up the genre projects. Already penning the CARRIE remake for MGM/Screen Gems and the book for the upcoming AMERICAN PSYCHO stage musical, he’s now in talks to script a new film version of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.

Variety reports that Warner Bros. and producer Marc Platt are behind the redux; not mentioned is whether the new film will employ the Howard Ashman/Alan Menken song score from the off-Broadway play and 1986 feature based on Roger Corman’s 1960 original, or if the latest incarnation will even be a musical at all (though one of Aguirre-Sacasa’s other current gigs as as co-producer on GLEE). Joseph Gordon-Levitt is circling the lead role of Seymour Krelborn, the meek florist’s assistant who is convinced by people-eating plant Audrey II that feeding it will help bring him fame and fortune.
