Beloved horror actress and Fango Family member Debbie Rochon recently reunited with her AMERICAN NIGHTMARE director Jon Keeyes in merry old England for a psychological shocker called THE NIGHTMARE BOX. Keeyes sent along a bunch of exclusive photos you can see below, along with details on the movie.

“NIGHTMARE BOX will be unlike anything people have seen before,” Keeyes, who scripted the film with Carl Kirshner and is pictured below with Rochon, tells Fango. “It’s a combination of horror, fantasy and psychological hell that truly blurs the lines of reality. It’s about a woman who wakes up in a room with no idea of who she is, where she is or how she got there, and must unravel the mystery of her identity before the room destroys her. Along the way, she encounters a wide range of surreal and frightening characters including: No Eyes, a woman with flesh where her eyes should be; Leviticus, a foul-mouthed, Bible-spewing 17th-century clergyman; Death, a mysterious undertaker with his lips sewn shut; and Husband and Wife, a sadistic and exagerrated couple who terrorize her beyond imagination.”

Rochon portrays Wife, opposite Matthew Tompkins as Husband (pictured below with Rochon), and the filmmaker was thrilled to reunite with the actress. “It was fantastic getting to work with Debbie again,” he says. “Since the day I first wrote that role, I knew Debbie had to play her. She immediately latched onto the lunancy and darkness within Wife’s soul, and brought it out in ways I didn’t expect; she steals scene after scene. Wife may be one of Debbie’s finest roles to date, and I can’t wait for people to see what she’s done here.”

As for the rest of the cast, “Up-and-coming British actress Johanna Stanton [1st two photos below] plays the woman, Jane Doe, and I believe audiences are truly going to respond to her on many levels. Nicholas Ball of LIFEFORCE plays the engimatic Man [3rd photo below with Stanton] also imprisoned in this strange place, and famed British theater actor James Simmons plays Leviticus [4th photo below] with a particulary vile spin.” Katie Kensit (5th photo below) plays No Eyes and Sal Esen (6th photo below) is Death, with Craig Bramley and Laura Whitehurst (7th photo below) as Master and Servant.

NIGHTMARE BOX is currently in postproduction, and Keeyes reports, “We’re expecting that the movie will be completed and ready to start screening by the end of June. We already have a few studios and big distributors circling it.” Rochon discusses this and other current projects in a cover-story interview in Fango #314, on sale next month.
