If you live in New York, this movie already terrifies you.
Deadline reports that new venture Tango Pictures, is mounting an adaptation of Ben H. Winters' novel BEDBUGS, with HOUSE OF THE DEVIL and INNKEEPERS director Ti West set to script.
A story in the tradition of apartment paranoia, BEDBUGS sees Susan and Alex Wendt find a sweet new place in Brooklyn. Soon, however, Susan is covered in what she imagines to be bedbug bites, a problem not shared by her husband and daughter, and seemingly not confirmed by any outside party.
No word on if West plans to direct following his current sci-fi oriented THE SIDE EFFECT, but the book's publisher did comment, "Reading BEDBUGS as a manuscript felt like the literary equivalent of a Ti West horror movie—a slow-burning supernatural story with fully realized characters, light on gore but heavy on menace and dread."
