Steven C. Miller, the filmmaker behind AUTOMATON TRANSFUSION, and the recent SXSW crowd-pleaser THE AGGRESSION SCALE is currently underway on a new iteration of the classic holiday slasher. 

Variety reports that Miller, directing a script by executive producer Jayson Rothwell, and Inferno's new Ember Productions have none other than Malcolm McDowell (A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN) starring as small town sheriff Cooper, on the hunt for an axe murderer dressed as Santa. 

The first film is wonderfully weird and mean spirited, curious to see if Miller is looking to capture that vibe again. 

Anchor Bay has picked up distribution for North America.
