It’s ironic considering the series’ premise, but the FINAL DESTINATION franchise just won’t die. New Line is going ahead with FINAL DESTINATION 5, and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET co-writer Eric Heisserer is on board.

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, Heisserer, who also wrote the currently lensing THE THING prequel, has been hired to pen the latest installment in the FINAL DESTINATION series. No director has been announced and the plot details are being kept under wraps, but it will be shot in 3-D (like the previous entry, THE FINAL DESTINATION) and we can no doubt expect plenty of intricate and extravagant Rube Goldberg-like demises.
