There's a new Ash in town. Well, not really.
Bloody-Disgusting broke that the upcoming MIRROR, MIRROR star Lily Collins is everything but officially the star of Fede Alvarez's EVIL DEAD remake. Effectively the new Ash, Collins will play Mia, who along with her brother and group of friends convene at the now legendary cabin for an intervention and happen upon the Necronomicon, setting off all sorts of evil.
Plenty of spoiler-ish details have hit in recent weeks, the meat of which I've stuck away from, and while I'm not dying to see EVIL DEAD remade, there's definitely no outrage on my part. It sounds as if some different notes are being hit and Collins may very well have the chops required. I guess we'll find out in that heinous-looking Snow White film.
Alvarez is helming the re-do of Sam Raimi's classic from a script by himself (and a polish from Diablo Cody). Production on EVIL DEAD gets underway this March in New Zealand.
