For a long time, the only Hellfest I knew of was the now defunct hardcore festival on the east coast. Now, the DESCENT director is looking to bring us to a (possibly) much more violent iteration.
Deadline reports that Marshall is in "early talks" to helm HELLFEST, a film about a masked slasher taking down the patrons of a theme park on Halloween. Gale Anne Hurd (THE WALKING DEAD, THE TERMINATOR) is producing, while William Penick and Chris Sey have written.
Shock Till You Drop has a bit more, with a quote from Hurd explaining the theme park is "one of the places that scares me the most - one of those Halloween theme parks, like what Universal does, or Knott's Scary Farm. That inspired the story: What if one of those people running around wasn't acting?"
After DOOMSDAY, CENTURION and just wrapping an episode of GAME OF THRONES (!), are you stoked at the prospect of Marshall returning to some out-and-out horror?
