The big-screen adaptation of Joe Hill's incredible novel about a young man who wakes up with horns finally has some movement!
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Alexandre Aja, director of HIGH TENSION, THE HILLS HAVE EYES and most recently PIRANHA 3D, will helm the film. The story follows Ig Perrish who, using the new found abilities bestowed by his horns, attempts to dig deeper into the unsolved murder of his girlfriend. Scott Bunin has penned the screenplay.
Earlier this year, Shia LaBeouf was reported as taking the lead in the film. There's no word if that's still the case, although it'd probably be much better if it wasn't. It's great to see Aja move on to something of this caliber. The novel is great and one of my favorites in recent memory. It's horrific, blackly humorous and quite emotional, and I'd love to see Aja utilize the real promise of HIGH TENSION and HILLS on something like this.
