The mysterious and buzzed THE CABIN IN THE WOODS is finally coming our way, and its trailer has enough gonzo goings-on to warrant all of its "turning the subgenre on its head" talk.

Yahoo! premiered the clip for the film directed by Drew Goddard (writer of CLOVERFIELD) and co-written by Goddard and Joss Whedon (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, FIREFLY), which purports to spin your head around what you think you know of typical cabin horror stories. Here's the official, if brief and withholding, synopsis:

"Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out. Produced by Whedon and directed by Goddard from a script by both, the film stars Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford."

Lionsgate releases THE CABIN IN THE WOODS April 13. Stoked? We are.
