A new clip from the 1920s set horror story, THE AWAKENING has debuted, and it sure is an eerie little number.
The film, hitting UK cinemas November 11, concerns "a renowned author and debunker of hoaxes, Florence Cathcart (Rebecca Hall), called to a provincial boarding school to explain away sightings of a phantom boy. What she discovers will prompt her to reconsider her deductive tactics — and send her mind spiraling back to a distant, forgotten past. Set in 1921, THE AWAKENING belongs to a great English tradition of ghost stories that work their chills through psychology and suggestion."
Empire premiered the clip (click through the image to check it out). THE AWAKENING has been acquired for U.S. release by Cohen Media Group, but no word on a date just yet. With this and THE WOMAN IN BLACK, two potentially strong period terror tales in 2012 is a very exciting prospect.
