Time to die. Rutger Hauer is going batty again. The BLADE RUNNER actor has been cast as the vigilante vagrant in Jason Eisener’s feature film HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN. 

HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN started out as a faux exploitation trailer that won Robert Rodriguez’s South By Southwest GRINDHOUSE fake trailer contest. Created by Nova Scotia filmmakers Eisener, John Davies and Rob Cotterill, the DEATH WISH-like trailer showcased a vengeful tramp out for justice with a 12-gauge shotgun. Eisener and Rob Cotterill previously collaborated on the Christmas-themed horror short TREEVENGE.

Ain’t It Cool News reports that Hauer will be replacing original star David Brunt. The film is set to start rolling today in Halifax. You can watch the trailer below.
