John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel LET THE RIGHT ONE IN has so far seen an amazing journey, from book to internationally loved and acclaimed film to an upcoming American remake produced by the relaunched Hammer Films. And now, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN will be invading bookstores again thanks to Dark Horse Comics, who will be releasing a graphic novel to tie in with the aforementioned English adaptation, LET ME IN. Read on for the details!
Dark Horse Comics and Hammer Films have partnered to create and produce a series of co-branded original graphic novels and comic books, the first of which will be inspired by Hammer/Overture’s October release LET ME IN. The story is apparently being kept under wraps, as writer Marc Andreyko (MANHUNTER, PREDATOR) will be incorporating the film’s characters and mythology, but also diverging from its storyline and adding fresh material.
Hammer’s production of LET ME IN is being directed by CLOVERFIELD’S Matt Reeves and stars Chloe Grace Moretz (who’s scene- stealing performance in KICK-ASS you can witness this weekend and lends some good faith to this much-opposed redux) as Abby. The eerie and fascinating new girl moves next door and befriends the terribly lonely and awkward Owen (THE ROAD’s Kodi Smit-McPhee) and turns out be scarily more than human.
Expect the graphic novel to release around the same time as the film, which is currently slated for October 1.
