[REC] 2 may have been the best horror sequel in years, and this brief teaser of the series' origin story does a lot to keep hopes high for the next two.

With two more films on the way, [REC] and [REC] 2 directors Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza have separated to each take the reins. Plaza is first up with [REC] 3: GENESIS, which departs from the found footage conceit and aims to explain just how a wedding ceremony led us to the infamous apartment complex in Barcelona. After a brief slideshow of declining happiness, the tiny amount of footage we get feels exciting, bloody and visceral, especially that shot of the bride wielding a chainsaw.
