It seems no one is playing Ash in the EVIL DEAD remake.
In the process of conversing with fans on his Twitter, EVIL DEAD star and now genre icon, Bruce Campbell revealed a couple of points about the upcoming Fede Alvarez-directed remake. Aside from the fact that it shoots "early 2012," Campbell most interestingly stated, "No Ash character currently." He then elaborated, "ED remake is a re-telling. All bets are off & all involved love the new approach."
Ted Raimi recently hypothesized to Fango the film will possibly shoot in New Zealand, and we all know Diablo Cody is currently polishing the script. The Ash bit, if true, is most certainly a new, intriguing bit of info. It'd be nice to see the film try and capture the spirit of the first two EVIL DEADs without being a carbon copy. As always, we'll hope for the best.
