Legendary director John Landis has a book on the way entitled MONSTERS IN THE MOVIES, in which he and many of his peers discuss just why we're so fascinated by the creatures on our screens. In anticipation of the release, a brief little video has popped up with the AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON director discussing why we need said monsters.
Landis' frequent online home, Trailers From Hell debuted the clip. MONSTERS IN THE MOVIES hits September 19 from DK Publishing and will feature an incredible archive of photos, as well as talks with Joe Dante, Rick Baker, Ray Harryhausen and many more.
It goes without saying that listening to, or reading, Landis and many of his Trailers From Hell cohorts discuss cinema history is an absolute pleasure. This book should be killer and I can't wait to get my hands on it. See what Landis had to say when he first told Fango about MONSTERS IN THE MOVIES right here.
